今日偶然看到。年纪不大，可惜了。本来现今俄罗斯搞理论计算化学出彩的人就不多。

In memory of Alex A. Granovsky

It is with great sadness that we can confirm that the main developer of the Firefly project Alex A. Granovsky has unexpectedly died aged 48 at the end of 2019. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Alex. This is a big loss for the community of quantum chemists.

The project is going to be continued. Currently, the registration of new users is temporarily unavailable. It will work again soon. However, all the current versions obtained from the website are fully functional.

2333。。。如果ORCA的优化算法再做做好，再搞个IRC，再把高阶解析导数支持一波，我都觉得某丝都可以弃用了

R.I.P. 太可惜了，Firefly是我最近几年用的最多的一个软件，这个软件用CASSCF和XMCQDPT2算大体系并行效率高，速度快，占用内存小。

By the way, the XMC-QDPT2/XMC-CASPT2 (developed by Alex A. Granovsky) should always be used instead of the original MC-QDPT2/MC-CASPT2.

用Firefly大多数人都是冲着XMCQDPT2去的，其它方面在我看来没有什么值得用的地方（或者说都有明显更好的替代）

说来惭愧，以前firefly我用得很多，主要是用nbo的分析，它家的nbo license特别便宜……
后来很久没用了。今天想试试，发现有些新泛函没有，想去看看有没有新版本更新，才发现作者去世了！！！
真是太可惜了！

回国后打算给firefly做点贡献，作者也给了源代码，但是前几年被各种入职培训、上课缠住了，总算有点时间写代码了，作者却不在了。现在是人走茶凉，程序主页也没了
