where ωf denotes the excitation energy of the excited state |f〉, and the summation includes the ground state |k〉=|0〉
顺便一提，DFT的quadratic response对于双电子激发特征明显的体系不适用。

这篇文献应该是矩阵元的出处但是没有明确说是否包含基态的问题，大家可以帮忙看一下
