1.     Institutional Overview​
ShenzhenUniversity of Advanced Technology (SUAT), a publicly funded newresearch-oriented university, was established in 2018 and officially approvedby the Ministry of Education in May 2024. Authorized to establish doctoralprograms from its inception, SUAT has rapidly risen to prominence. In 2024, itsundergraduate admission score reached 624 points (exceeding the first-tiercutoff by 182 points), placing it among the top-tier universities in GuangdongProvince on its debut.
Leveragingthe resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Shenzhen Institute ofAdvanced Technology, SUAT aims to become a world-class institution through theintegration of science and education with industry-academia collaboration.Focused on cutting-edge research and elite talent development, SUAT leadsmultiple major research projects worth tens of millions of yuan and boasts a40.9% funding rate for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).Partnering with 52 international institutions, SUAT joint-training graduatestudents average 3.5 research outputs per capita, with nearly 30% of graduatessecuring positions in top companies.

2. Faculty Profiles​
Prof. John Z.H. Zhang, Faculty of Synthetic Biology at SUAT,  https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=X_MkP1QAAAAJ&hl=zh-CN&authuser=1. Prof. Zhang received his B.S. degree from thePhysics Department of East China Normal University in 1982 and his Ph.D. degreefrom University of Houston in 1987. He did his postdoctoral research at UCBerkeley from 1987 to 1990. He was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at NYUfrom 1990-1994, an Associate Professor from 1994-1997, and has been a Professorsince 1997. Professor Zhang’s current research focus is the development andapplication of novel computational methods for accurate and efficient study ofbiological systems. He develops quantum and classical methods, including newpolarized force field, to accurately predict protein structure, free energy inprotein-drug and protein-protein bindings, conformational dynamics of membraneproteins, structure and dynamics of metalloproteins. John Zhang has receivedmany prestigious awards, including the Camille and Henry Dreyfus New FacultyAward (1990), the NSF Presidential Faculty Fellow (1994), the Alfred P. SloanFoundation Research Fellow (1995) and the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar(1995). Prof. Zhang has published more than 450 papers in top journals, with~15000 citations and an H-index ~63 (WOS).
Prof. ZhaoxiSun, Faculty of Synthetic Biology at SUAT, https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=qvEbJ2kAAAAJ&hl=zh-CN&authuser=1&oi=ao. Prof. Sun got his B.S. degree from NanjingUniversity, Ph. D. degree from East Chine Normal University. Afterwards, heconducted postdoctoral research at Peking University (PKU Boya scholarship),became a research scientist in Changping Laboratory and joined SUAT since 2025.Prof. Sun currently focuses on AI4Science (e.g., multimodal large languagemodels) and the development of advanced simulation techniques (e.g.,force-field development and sampling strategies). Prof. Sun has published morethan 50 papers in main-stream journals, with ~1000 citations and an H-index of~17 (WOS).


3. Positions​​
​​(1) Postdoctoral Researcher—AI4Science​​
​​Job Description:​​

  • Design     and optimize deep learning models using public databases and lab-generated     datasets to explore scientific frontiers such as protein interactions and     functional molecule design.
​​Requirements:​​

  • Ph.D.     in computer science, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, or related     fields.
  • Strong     programming skills with good coding practices; experience in large-scale     model development is preferred.
  • Demonstrated     excellence through high-impact publications or industry experience;     proficiency in backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) is a     plus.
  • Candidates     must be within 3 years of completing their Ph.D. or nearing completion, below     35 years old, with no prior postdoctoral experience in Guangdong Province.     

​​(2) Postdoctoral Researcher—MolecularSimulation​​
​​Job Description:​​

  • Develop     enhanced sampling algorithms, refine molecular force fields, and conduct     frontier research on molecular simulations of protein systems.
​​Requirements:​​

  • Ph.D.     in computational biophysics, physical chemistry, atomic/molecular physics,     or related fields.
  • Solid     programming skills with good coding practices; experience in force field     development is preferred.
  • Track     record of high-quality publications; interdisciplinary backgrounds are     advantageous.
  • Candidates     must be within three years of completing their Ph.D. or nearing     completion, below 35 years old, with no prior postdoctoral experience in     Guangdong Province.
