英语不是母语，做reviewer的时候，经常会不知道怎么表达很多意思，特此分享一下我收到的Reviewer comment，大家做reviewer的时候可以用。

However, after reading the paper multiple times, I really struggled to deduce what new conceptual insight(s) into the XXXX system were provided by this study beyond earlier work. Unless I have completely missed something, the level of advance in this work is insufficient at this stage for XXXX.


In sum, the above is a long-winded way of saying that I cannot see how the authors can draw any solid conclusions about the XXXX system from their measurements.



Although there is some speculation about this, I don't see any obvious potentially relevant patterns here and it is unclear to me what point the authors are trying to make here.


The authors should better articulate what they are trying to conclude from this analysis, if anything.
